FENSA Registered Company

FENSA is a government authorised Competent Persons Scheme for the replacement of windows, doors and roofline products. Members have to be vetted and as a consumer it is important that you check your window installer is registered with FENSA.

FENSA have now introduced Minimum Technical Competencies (MTC’s) which are now mandatory for window installers and surveyors. MTC’s were introduced in September 2012 by the government (Dept for communities & local governments, DCLG).

Staff members who work for a window installation company registered with glazing Competent Person’s Schemes including FENSA, must demonstrate certain experience, knowledge and competencies. Once the MTC Card is issued, the holder can prove that they have the skills to carry out contracted jobs to a nationally recognised standard.

Cards will be issued following recognition that the applicant has relevant industry experience – a minimum of two years is required. They will also be required to prove a relevant glazing sector qualification – NVQ 2 for installers and NVQ 3 for surveyors.

Online FENSA assessments and tests

Online assessments and tests may also be required to maintain card registration. DW Windows always takes the training of its staff very seriously and is pleased to say that all of our window fitters are enrolled or have completed their NVQ Level 2 in Window Fenestration. Our surveyor has achieved NVQ Level 3 in Surveying. We feel that a qualified, competent workforce improves commitment and workmanship ensuring higher standards for customers. All of our installers and surveyors have therefore been able to apply for their FENSA MTC Cards, most of which have been issued.
